I’m a Journeyman Technician with the South Dakota Department of Transportation, where I inspect roads being built to confirm they meet code and regulations. I test samples of various materials to verify compliance and determine whether changes are needed, and I inspect culverts and other structures to verify they’re up to code. I also handle computer work—entering inspection and structure input data to update values and supporting future jobs during the off construction season.

Before my DOT role, I built strong experience working directly with people—supporting students as a SPED Paraprofessional, tutoring learners to improve reading, writing, and mathematical skills for GED readiness, and providing customer service as a Sales Associate. In classroom and tutoring settings, I documented activities, tracked progress, followed up with students and parents, and collaborated with teachers and supervisors to address concerns. I bring a motivated, detail-focused work style, strong time management, and the ability to pick up new skills quickly while staying confident with modern tools like Microsoft Office.
