Martina Zapata

I've contributed to pediatric global health research at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, where I led qualitative analyses and manuscript development on infant-feeding decisions and knowledge among women living with HIV in Philadelphia.

My first-author qualitative study, “My body my baby,” was published in AIDS Care. I've also contributed to research from the IMPAACT 2017/MOCHA trial and to projects involving neurocognitive assessment in Botswana and autism screening experiences in Diné communities.

My clinical training includes pediatric observerships and externships at CHOP, Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, OLA Pediatrics, Centro Médico Vitalcen Milagros, and Briggs Family Pediatrics. I've supported patient care through pediatric examinations, anthropometric measurements, medication-dose calculations, Spanish interpretation, and exposure to emergency medicine, asthma, and pediatric endocrinology.

I'm an ECFMG-certified physician and have passed all three USMLE steps. I bring fluent English and Spanish communication, qualitative and quantitative research experience, and a sustained commitment to child health and community-engaged care.
