At Development Gateway, seconded to the Ministry of Agriculture, Ethiopia, I designed and developed DOVAR, an animal disease registration and tracking system deployed for use by farmers and district agricultural specialists across Ethiopia.
I also developed systems for ministry planning, budget management, and ICT support. The Planning & Performance Management System helps state ministry offices set annual targets, track indicators, and generate reports for submission to the Ethiopian Parliament.
To support the systems, I tested and documented REST API endpoints using Postman and Swagger/OpenAPI, and set up OpenTelemetry monitoring. I also customized SharePoint and worked on DHIS2 integration for agricultural data collection.
Previously, at John Snow, Inc. (JSI), seconded to Ministry of Health, Ethiopia, I co-developed the Digital Health Project Inventory system and assisted with the National Health Data Dictionary application. I also supported DHIS2 data elements and dashboards and contributed to interoperability with eCHIS.
