Lucas Caovilla

I’m a Backend Software Engineer focused on building scalable and maintainable systems using .NET and C#. I have 2+ years of experience working with ASP.NET Core APIs, data pipelines, and containerized environments, with my work strongly influenced by Domain-Driven Design and Clean Architecture principles.

I developed and maintained web crawlers for automated traffic infraction data collection, then designed Python data extraction pipelines to process and normalize large datasets. I improved reliability and fault tolerance of distributed scraping workflows, reduced memory usage by optimizing object lifecycle and garbage collection behavior, and increased data export performance by batching database queries.

I also built backend features for e-commerce platforms with a focus on performance and reliability, standardized development environments using Docker to reduce onboarding friction, and collaborated end-to-end with product teams (including improving product recommendation systems, increasing conversion by 5%). Outside of work, I created Olav, an open-source .NET CLI that scaffolds production-ready APIs with built-in architecture validation and CI/CD pipelines, and I’m currently open to remote international opportunities.
