Lawson Shepherd
@lawsonshepherd
QA Automation Engineer specializing in Playwright, REST APIs, and scalable test frameworks.
What I'm looking for
I’m a QA Automation Engineer with 6+ years of experience designing Playwright and TypeScript frameworks, leading test strategy, and automating complex web applications. I specialize in REST API testing, with supporting UI coverage and Microsoft SQL Server validation for personal and commercial flood and earthquake workflows.
I owned automation strategy and framework architecture for CATcoverage.com, including migrating approximately 1,200 Selenium test cases to Playwright using reusable API services, fixtures, page objects, centralized configuration, and environment-specific test data. I built REST API automation across price indications, quoting, underwriting, payment, policy issuance, and renewal validation, then added SQL Server assertions to verify workflow data beyond API responses—improving stability and failure investigation with resilient locators, traces, screenshots, structured logs, and HTML reports. I also use Cursor AI and GitHub Copilot to accelerate debugging, refactoring, framework maintenance, and documentation.
