At Memorial University of Newfoundland and Eastern Health Thrombosis Service, I designed and led observational studies using administrative health data, chart review, and patient surveys. My work contributed to 29 peer-reviewed publications, including a first-author study comparing a multidisciplinary thrombosis service with usual care.
I built analysis-ready patient cohorts from CIHI DAD and NACRS records, provincial pharmacy claims, and Meditech chart data. I also developed a Python NLP model to identify VTE events in diagnostic imaging reports and compared risk models for acute pulmonary embolism.
My PhD in Epidemiology from Monash University examined statins and heart failure, and my research has included systematic reviews and meta-analyses. I currently teach in Oceania University of Medicine’s pre-clinical curriculum; earlier, I taught and supervised pharmacy students in Ghana and supported medication use in emergency medicine and cardiology.
