Kristen Donoghue-Stanford
@kristendonoghue-stan
Art director and curator blending creative leadership, education, and precise operations for lasting impact.
What I'm looking for
I build art-forward projects that move from concept to publication, exhibition, and education. With an MFA (with Distinction) and a history of curatorial and gallery leadership, I’m comfortable shaping vision while maintaining strong execution.
As Co-Founder and Art Director of an online literary and arts magazine, I created and curated content, managed submissions, edited accepted materials, and planned future themes and collaborations. I also developed marketing material for each issue and interviewed artists and writers for publication, while following our code of conduct informed by the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
My curatorial work spans festivals and gallery contexts, including curatorial team roles and an online exhibition in partnership with Tate Britain. I manage logistics end-to-end—liaising with artists, handling communications and data input for budgeting, and designing exhibition collateral—so experiences run smoothly for audiences and contributors.
I also bring people-centered experience from education and client-facing roles, including coordinating learning programs, assessing students’ needs, scheduling classes, and hiring tutors with Vulnerable Sector Checks. In operational roles, I’ve handled billing workflows, invoice distribution, reporting accuracy, and month-end KPI targets with a focus on dependable timelines.
