Kirsten Protherough
@kirstenprotherough
I build frailty education and digital tools that help older adults live better.
What I'm looking for
I co-founded CareBoodle, taking a vision for a carer-facing delirium app into a product now available on Google Play and the Apple Store. I lead clinical input, grant funding, assessment and escalation planning, and data-protection work to help carers improve outcomes for older adults.
Through HEALTHACATE® and Upskill for Frailty, I design practical webinars, workshops, and bespoke education for carers, non-medical prescribers, pharmacists, ANPs, ACPs, and trainee GPs. My work bridges health and social care, supports positive ageing, and aims to reduce unplanned emergency admissions through better frailty care.
I bring more than a decade of experience as a GP working across community hospitals, stroke rehabilitation, urgent treatment, palliative care, and out-of-hours services. I hold a Diploma in Geriatric Medicine and have led clinical supervision, prescribing education, and multidisciplinary improvement work.
At the University of Worcester, I support the online Frailty Module and teach frailty-related prescribing. I enjoy equipping healthcare professionals and carers with clear, compassionate, evidence-informed approaches to caring for older adults.
