Kelly Shuster

I am a self-reliant, compassionate registered nurse with a patient-first approach and strong interpersonal communication skills. I excel at building relationships with patients, nursing staff, physicians and multidisciplinary teams to support coordinated care.

Since 2014 I have provided high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced 36-bed medical-surgical unit at a university hospital, managing pre- and post-operative patients and those with diverse medical conditions. I apply critical thinking to prioritize competing patient needs while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance.

My clinical background spans obstetrics, pediatrics, psychiatry, cardiology, respiratory, orthopedics and geriatrics. I am well-versed in disease management applications, medication terminology, medical procedures, charting processes and computerized records management.

I am committed to excellence in patient assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation; I have been recognized through three Daisy Award nominations for extraordinary direct patient care.
