I’m a B.E. Mechanical Engineering professional with over 3 years of experience in procurement within the automotive industry, covering both indirect and direct purchasing. I’m currently designated as Engineer – Procurement with SMRCAutomotive Products India Private Limited in Chennai, working in the injection moulding environment.

My core strength is end-to-end procurement execution—right from floating RFQs and receiving offers to techno-commercial evaluation, price comparison, negotiation, approvals as per DOA, PO placement, and order acknowledgement. I also handle material follow-up and coordinate with logistics for imports, ensuring requirements are met through company procurement policies and procedures.

I’ve gained practical, high-pressure experience with machine spares purchasing, including emergency spares during machine breakdowns, along with MRO procurement from local and global suppliers. I’m proficient with RFQ processes, offer evaluation, VAVE activities, and strategic sourcing approaches, supported by tools like ERP systems (Empro), data/spreadsheets analysis, and PowerPoint for stakeholder communication.

I focus on cost improvement through alternative vendor development, structured negotiations, and rate contract reviews based on spend analysis—resulting in annual cost savings of over INR 2.40Mn in FY22/23 through negotiations & VAVE. I also manage supplier account reconciliation, AMC planning/monitoring, and vendor portal implementation to strengthen supplier relationships and keep deliveries aligned with manufacturing readiness and operational needs.
