Software developer with over 20 years of professional experience. Experience writing maintainable and scalable code. Happy to lead a small to medium team, be an individual contributor or something in between. Focused on backend development, data modeling, APIs, ops and security.

Strong believer that code quality and performance is a feature. The best management tools are pull requests, code review and pair programming.

Joined amid significant technical turmoil – daily outages, poor performance, high
costs and technical leadership turnover. Was given a mandate to fix it. Rewrote
core aspects of the platform from a Heroku-hosted Ruby on Rails system, to a
globally distributed, baremetal Node + Go + forked Redis. Hosting costs were
reduced (~8x), outages were eliminated and 95th percentile response time
was 5ms.
