At the Aztec Police Department, I led public safety operations as Chief of Police and Director of Public Safety, overseeing police, fire, animal shelter, and motor vehicle functions.
I managed a department budget exceeding $5 million and, as Interim City Manager, oversaw more than 100 employees and a $64 million operating budget. I prepared reports for the City Commission, developed grants, managed personnel matters, and coordinated with local, state, and federal partners.
I developed and revised all 83 departmental policies and procedures, including use of force, body-worn cameras, internal affairs, vehicle pursuits, and special operations. I also led the implementation of the department's body-worn camera program, license plate readers, facial recognition software, officer wellness program, and Lexipol training.
My career has progressed through patrol, investigations, supervision, command, and city leadership, grounded in criminal justice education, police command training, and public safety service.
