What I'm looking for

I'm seeking an entry-level SOC or cybersecurity analyst role where I can apply hands-on Splunk, Linux, Python, triage, escalation, and incident documentation experience while growing in detection engineering and incident response.

I've built a Splunk Enterprise detection lab from bare ISO, including a Universal Forwarder pipeline, SPL detections for brute-force authentication and command execution, and auditd coverage for previously unaudited activity.

I publish Python security tooling to GitHub, including a command-line failed-login detector that parses Linux auth logs, identifies brute-force patterns by source IP, and supports automation through configurable thresholds, time windows, and cron-friendly exit codes. My hands-on work also includes Wireshark protocol analysis, Nmap scan detection, Linux administration, and MITRE ATT&CK mapping.

At Intermech on the Hanford Site, I lead multi-craft work under DOE and OSHA controls, make escalation decisions, document incidents and findings, and drive corrective actions to closure. Twelve years in federal nuclear operations and eight years in the Marine Corps have shaped how I approach monitoring, procedure, accountability, and high-consequence work.

Lead a multi-craft crew inside a federal nuclear facility under badge-controlled access, continuous DOE and OSHA documentation requirements, and a formal work-control and authorization process. Own escalation decisions in the field and produce the record: daily project logs, incident reports, and job hazard analyses.
