Jonathan Andrews

I’m a GIS Analyst with deep experience curating and maintaining GIS land bases for telecommunications environments, and building the data foundations that keep mapping workflows accurate and reliable. With 13 years in the GIS field and 17 years of CAD drafting background, I translate real-world requirements into clean, usable spatial and database outputs.

In my most recent role, I perform GIS editing in a proprietary client application for an audience of millions, using ESRI tools and GIS database work from Apr 2023 to present. Previously, I supported wide-spread client needs through GIS analysis and scripting/automation, including format conversion and database-driven updates from Aug 2022 to Apr 2023.

When COVID impacts led to being laid off, I doubled down on what I do best: scripting, database query, and administration. I created and administered SQL databases for GIS and data entry applications, and wrote scripts and applications to support production—partnering automation with solid database design using Oracle and MySQL alongside SQL.

I bring a hands-on, improvement-focused mindset shaped by years of CAD and production work, plus strong communication and self-motivation. I’m also actively sharpening my development skills through web development bootcamp (University of Texas) to better support modern GIS and data workflows.
