What I'm looking for

I’m looking for a role where I can scale library systems and digital services—KOHA/DSPACE repositories, e-resources, RFID/CCTV, reporting, and training—while partnering with ICT and vendors to ensure uninterrupted access for students and staff.

I’m a seasoned librarian with “10 years working experience in librarianship,” trained across circulation services, collection management, and digital librarianship. I’m approachable, reliable, and a team player, and I keep my work aligned with the latest trends in library sciences.

In my current role as “Librarian -Systems,” I develop and maintain library computer systems using broad software and hardware technologies. I instruct staff on databases and upgrades, support library ICT and media services across campus, produce reports from e-resources usage statistics, and benchmark with systems librarians to improve information management. I also develop a repository knowledge base, advise on database licensing and license files, coordinate with vendors, and maintain library web content with the University Webmaster.

Previously at Kabarak University, I managed and upgraded KOHA, handled CCTV security, maintained the RFID library security system, and uploaded past papers into the Calibre information management system. Earlier experience includes installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of KOHA, DSPACE, and EZPROXY, customizing library websites and systems, digitizing university publications, and providing training and research support. I’m also pursuing a Masters in Information Technology, working on an AI model to classify books using Library of Congress Classification.
