Jaden Shackelford
@jadenshackelford
I research marine propulsion and build hydrodynamic systems for ocean engineering projects.
What I'm looking for
I've conducted naval research at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division, studying controllable pitch propellers and testing shafting materials. I also support Ocean Wave Mechanics students at Virginia Tech through grading and office hours.
At Virginia Tech, I contribute to a human-powered submarine design team as a hydrodynamics engineer and help design and build a functional wavemaker in Dr. Gilbert's Hydroelasticity Lab. My work draws on MATLAB, SolidWorks, Rhino, Orca, and engineering analysis.
