Izzie Fairchild

I’m a multilingual film critic and cultural journalist with 12+ years producing cultural criticism, scripts, and editorial content across film, theater, and performing arts. I’ve built a steady practice of publishing reviews, essays, and interviews for MUBI Brazil, creating work that speaks to arthouse audiences with clarity and cultural depth.

Alongside journalism, I develop original screenplays and production narratives for independent short and feature-length projects, supporting story from script through final cut. As an assistant director, I manage pre-production logistics and creative direction on set while coordinating editorial vision with directors and cinematographers.

I also strengthen my craft through translation and teaching—EN ↔ PT (and EN ↔ PT ↔ FR context) for creative, academic, and audiovisual content, plus English tutoring focused on academic writing, media literacy, and professional communication. I bring trained visual communication and art direction research to every project, from curatorial perspective to the details of spatial storytelling.
