Counseling Psychologist helping clients manage problems and build effective, self-directed coping.
What I'm looking for
I’m a highly self-motivated Counseling Psychologist with a strong passion for helping clients manage their problems, live effectively, and become better at helping themselves in everyday life. My work is centered on comprehensive assessment, diagnostic impressions, and individualized treatment planning.
Since August 2018, I’ve served as a Moi University Staff Counselor (HRSS), where I compile comprehensive assessments and prepare diagnostic impressions. I develop individualized treatment plans with goals, interventions, necessary support or referrals, and I also run aftercare and client disengagement plans. I conduct individual counseling sessions for staff/family members, including crisis intervention when needed.
I also facilitate group counseling and educational programs, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET), and Therapeutic Community Counseling (TCC). Beyond university counseling, I’ve trained classes as a trainer at Kenya Institute of Professional Counseling, supported HIV/AIDS counseling and education at AMPATH, and provided PSS and follow-ups for PLWHA at Nandi Hills District Hospital—always with careful documentation, confidentiality, and a commitment to improving outcomes through supervision and continued learning.
