I’m Idongesit Akpaowo, a communicator turned cybersecurity professional specializing in Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC). My Communication Arts background helps me translate complex security concepts into clear policies and business practices.

I recently began building my cybersecurity foundation at Netisens ICT as a Cybersecurity & GRC Trainee (internship). I’m developing practical knowledge in cybersecurity fundamentals, how threats like malware impact business operations, and how social engineering tactics affect the human element of security and risk.

I’m currently expanding my understanding of risk assessments, security frameworks, and compliance monitoring while studying cyber hygiene and internet safety to help shape effective security awareness training for end-users. I learn in public and share my progress, and I’m actively seeking entry-level, internship, or volunteer opportunities to help organizations manage digital risks and build strong security cultures.
