Hleketelani Baloyi
@hleketelanibaloyi
Experienced English educator and marker, specializing in literature, research, and feedback.
What I'm looking for
I’m an External English Marker at the University of South Africa (UNISA), responsible for assessing student scripts, awarding and recording marks, and liaising with the English department administration. Being a marker has helped me polish my literary techniques through consistent student feedback.
I bring deep teaching experience, including lecturing for Business Communication and teaching High School English in both Zimbabwe and Johannesburg contexts. I’ve taught English literature and grammar, set term exams, marked exams, and written reports for school leadership.
I also work as an e-tutor (online), and that experience strengthened my understanding of netiquette rules while supporting effective communication in a digital learning environment. Alongside my education work, I’ve cultivated managerial and administrative skills, time management, and teamwork through sales assistant experience.
Research is another core strength of mine, with experience in data collection and analysis. My long-term desire is to educate and teach English to students who want to be well acquainted with the language, because it is invaluable for communication wherever they go.
