Gil Otis
@gilotis
Hands-on R&D chemist specializing in materials, nanotechnology, and scale-up.
What I'm looking for
I am a hands-on R&D chemist with deep wet-lab expertise across materials, inorganic, polymer, and nanochemistry, operating at the interface between science, engineering, and industrial constraints.
I have independently owned projects end-to-end—from academic literature review to experiment planning, optimization, analytical characterization, and scale-up—working with instrumentation such as SEM, TEM, ICP-OES, CHNS/O analyzers, and up to 10L reactor systems.
My work includes contributions to clean energy and hydrogen production, chemical recycling, multiple peer-reviewed publications, and a patent on antimicrobial carbon dots; I bring rigorous experimental design, reproducibility focus, and experience translating lab research toward practical process development.
