What I'm looking for

I’m looking to build a career in data engineering, focusing on data infrastructure for African markets and helping close the gap between the data that exists and the infrastructure to use it well.

My final-year project at JKUAT was an SME business distress prediction model for East Africa, using World Bank Enterprise Survey data across eight countries. I caught and fixed target leakage, then deployed the corrected XGBoost model with SHAP interpretability as a live Streamlit dashboard.

At Computech Limited, I collaborated on an Ecological Niche Modelling project and managed and validated organisational data from multiple sources. I’m building toward data engineering, with a focus on data infrastructure for African markets, and developing my skills in dbt, Airflow, Docker, and BigQuery.
