What I'm looking for

I'm available immediately for enterprise architecture work focused on Azure, Kubernetes, event-driven systems, legacy modernisation, cloud governance, FinOps, and practical AI adoption across engineering teams.

I am a solutions architect working on Azure, Kubernetes and event-driven systems. 20 years in enterprise software, including ten-plus in technical leadership and architecture, across a career that has covered every layer from POS terminals in retail stores to the cloud platforms that run them.

Most of that career was at LC Waikiki, a global fashion retailer with 1,200+ stores in 55+ countries, where I moved from field support through software engineering to team lead, development manager and solutions architect. That path is what I would point a hiring team to: I design systems with a working knowledge of what happens when they fail at 6 PM on a Saturday in a busy store.

Work I am usually asked about:

  • A zero-downtime migration of 1 TB of production data from MSSQL to a document store, on a platform serving millions of daily transactions.

  • A DevOps blueprint that took the organisation from monthly releases to continuous delivery and was adopted company-wide.

  • Replacing Windows CE with Android across 3,000+ in-store devices used by 50,000+ staff.

  • Azure landing zone and governance standards, plus an architecture review board, for an enterprise cloud programme; a hybrid connectivity redesign alongside it.

  • FinOps work that cut monthly Azure spend by roughly 20%, including KEDA scale-to-zero that removed off-peak compute cost for worker workloads.

  • Since 2022, independent consulting — most recently a multi-year engagement delivering cloud-native architecture for a global workspace provider, including the .NET Core migration plan for a platform of 60 microservices behind an API gateway.

What interests me now is AI-assisted engineering as a serious architectural discipline, not autocomplete: I use Copilot and Claude Code daily, and I am building an architecture review agent for Azure/.NET codebases. I also care about FinOps and about event-driven design that stays legible to the people who have to operate it.

MSc in Computer Software Engineering (Boğaziçi), BSc in Economics. Based in Istanbul, UTC+3, available immediately.
