Fatima Azmat

I’m a psychiatrist with extensive clinical experience at Jinnah Hospital, specializing in diagnosing and treating psychiatric disorders. I focus on accurate assessment, empathetic communication, and clear, patient-centered treatment decisions.

In my postgraduate residency, I conducted comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, developed individualized treatment plans, and monitored progress to adjust strategies based on clinical assessments. I also collaborated closely with interdisciplinary teams to strengthen patient care and treatment outcomes.

I’m trained to respond effectively during acute psychiatric episodes, providing crisis intervention and support to help stabilize acutely ill patients and reduce risk of self-harm or harm to others. I educate patients and families on mental health conditions and treatment options, and I work to build understanding and trust.

I’ve also supported clinical learning through supervision of junior staff and ongoing professional development to stay current with evolving psychiatric practices. Earlier, as a house officer, I gained broad medical exposure across General Medicine, General Surgery, Psychiatry, and Pediatric Surgery, and I performed ECT sessions.
