What I'm looking for

I’m looking to grow in an accounts-focused role with exposure to accounts preparation, using my VAT returns, reconciliations, and bookkeeping experience to support SMEs and work closely with senior accountants.

I’m an Account Assistant with UK practice experience in VAT returns, bank reconciliations, and client bookkeeping. I currently work at TaxAssist Accountants (Westminster), supporting a portfolio of SME clients with hands-on accounting responsibilities.

I prepare and submit VAT returns end-to-end, including bookkeeping review, reconciliations, VAT reports, and submission support. I ensure accurate transaction coding and compliance with HMRC requirements, while keeping clear working papers and supporting documentation for each client file.

I’m also comfortable stepping in alongside seniors: I assist with reconciliations and maintain structured working papers to support accounts preparation. Alongside this, I handle client and HMRC-related queries professionally, keeping records organised and helping drive timely resolution.

I bring a strong academic foundation from ACCA (exemptions awarded) and I’m currently preparing for ACCA F6 (Taxation). With advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, SUMIF) and experience in Xero and QuickBooks, I’m ready to deepen my expertise in accounts preparation while continuing to deliver accurate, compliance-focused support.
