Emma Schmalz
@emmaschmalz
I am an investigative journalist skilled in broadcast and digital storytelling.
What I'm looking for
I am an investigative journalist and recent journalism graduate with hands-on experience producing broadcast packages, shooting live shots, and writing for digital news platforms under tight deadlines. I report, edit, and produce multimedia content with accuracy and speed.
As editor-in-chief and a contributor to a Pulitzer-finalist investigative project, I led reporting teams, filed FOIA requests, and helped produce work that spurred police reform. I bring strong AP-style reporting, video editing, and newsroom producing skills and thrive in collaborative, fast-paced newsrooms.
