Dávid Pongrácz

I've worked with the Janus Pannonius Museum and the University of Pécs on archaeological fieldwork, museum guiding, artifact cleaning, preliminary identification, cataloguing, documentation, packing, fieldwalking, and instrument-based surveys. I also joined the Székely National Museum's test excavation at Tarnóczy-Mikes Castle, investigating its structure and construction phases through manual excavation and recovered remains.

I'm completing a BA in Archaeology at the University of Pécs, writing my thesis on the archaeometallurgy and manufacturing technology of Avar axes. For an experimental archaeology project, I made an Avar axe using partly period-authentic techniques, and I independently organize multi-day Transylvanian hiking and wild-camping trips.
