Senior software engineer building cloud-native, event-driven backend platforms on AWS.
What I'm looking for
I’m a Senior Software Engineer with over 5 years of experience designing and operating large-scale distributed backend systems, event-driven architectures, and cloud-native services on AWS. I’m especially strong in C#/.NET and Python, building high-performance APIs and microservices with production-grade observability.
At IXL Learning, I designed a cloud-native analytics pipeline on AWS that processes over 500K daily student performance events to power personalized learning workflows at scale. I architected high-throughput backend APIs, built event-driven automation pipelines with AWS Lambda, SQS, and Step Functions, and established observability standards (structured logging, distributed tracing, and CloudWatch monitoring/alerting). I refactored legacy components into independent, deployable services, increasing deployment frequency by 40% while reducing coupling—while consistently maintaining 99.95% platform uptime.
Earlier, I productionized ML pipelines for real-time AR effects in Spark AR, supporting model training and runtime inference at scale (including <50 ms per-frame latency on mobile). I also contribute across the stack—building React/Next.js/Vue/TypeScript educator and nonprofit-facing interfaces—and I bring security-by-design practices (least-privilege IAM, secrets management, and rigorous API validation) into every delivery.
Experience
Work history, roles, and key accomplishments
Designed an AWS cloud-native analytics pipeline processing 500K+ daily student events and built C#/.NET microservices powering adaptive learning workflows. Increased deployment frequency 40% while reducing service coupling and maintained 99.95% platform uptime with security-by-design and production observability.
Productionized end-to-end ML pipelines for real-time Spark AR effects for a platform with 10M+ daily active users, achieving <50 ms per-frame latency on mobile devices. Built model training/evaluation workflows and tooling for experiment tracking and staged deployments, gating releases with >98% pass rates and running fairness/bias evaluations.
