Medical doctor and Internal Medicine Resident focused on evidence-based, compassionate chronic care.
What I'm looking for
I’m a medical doctor based in Kenya currently pursuing Masters studies in Internal Medicine, driven by compassionate care and a strong commitment to improving outcomes for patients with Chronic diseases such as HIV, Diabetes and Hypertension. I’m an avid researcher and curious to learn new ways of practicing medicine, and I actively bring evidence-based thinking into every clinical decision. My professional ethos blends clinical excellence with continuous learning and patient-centered communication.
As an Internal Medicine Resident at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital, I deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care across general internal medicine and its subspecialties. I lead ward rounds, coordinate patient management plans, and ensure continuity of care from admission through discharge, applying evidence-based medicine in clinical reasoning by integrating current guidelines and research. I manage acutely ill and critically unstable patients in emergency and high-dependency settings, actively participate in morbidity and mortality reviews and clinical governance initiatives, and contribute to clinical research and scholarly presentations.
Before residency, I worked as a General practitioner at AGC Tenwek Hospital, where I conducted general outpatient clinics, managed admissions and discharges, reviewed inpatients through timely ward rounds, and provided weekday and weekend call coverage. I also served as a manager and chaired the HIV/AIDS Coordinating Committee and Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT), coordinating Adult and Pediatric Care and Treatment in CCC and MCH respectively, reviewing monthly and quarterly program reports, and implementing key HIV services including TB treatment and prevention, PMTCT, cervical Cancer Screening, HIV testing and screening, PREP, Gender Based Violence, and laboratory monitoring of Viral Load and CD4 Count.
Most recently, I supported advanced human data initiatives for Micro1 by helping to improve the safety of AI models on health-related questions. I evaluated the accuracy and quality of model-generated health-related responses and helped align model outputs so AI solutions could be safer within the health field, while continuing to advance my research interests—currently including my thesis on adherence to antiseizure medication and seizure control among people living with epilepsy at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital. I also mentor junior trainees and facilitate bedside teaching sessions for medical students, fostering clinical competence, critical thinking, and professionalism within the multidisciplinary team.
