Dirk Mantele

I've delivered electrical, instrumentation, and controls design for Chevron refineries, Baosteel steel facilities, PG&E gas stations, food-processing plants, semiconductor fabs, and oil and gas projects. My work spans detailed design, construction support, factory acceptance testing, commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting.

At Chevron’s Richmond Refinery, I led E/I/C design for the hydrogen plant production complex within the Richmond Modernization Project and supported modernization of hydrogen compressors, Honeywell DCS systems, PLCs, smart instrumentation, safety systems, power distribution, and motor controls. I’ve also led design and checking teams, reviewed vendor packages and construction documents, and ensured designs met codes, standards, safety, and constructability requirements.

Across more than 45 years, I’ve produced and checked P&IDs, one-lines, schematics, loop diagrams, cable and conduit layouts, grounding and lighting plans, control-panel designs, specifications, estimates, schedules, and asset documentation. I enjoy new technical challenges and bring practical field experience from construction, shutdowns, cutovers, inspections, and commissioning.
