Demian Mayorga

I'm completing a Nanotechnology Engineering degree at Tecnológico de Monterrey and have developed nanomaterials across industrial and academic projects.

At SADOSA, I analyzed TiN hard coatings for industrial cutting tools using nanoindentation, AFM, tribological testing, Calotest, Rockwell indentation, and optical microscopy. I delivered a technical report with data-driven improvement proposals directly to the industrial partner.

As an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Tecnológico de Monterrey CEM, I synthesized ZnO thin films for high-sensitivity acetone detection and optimized sol-gel and hydrothermal parameters to achieve sub-ppm sensor response thresholds.

I've also worked on silica–PVA aerogels for industrial thermal insulation, nanoparticle synthesis, microfluidic pharmaceutical separation, albendazole co-crystals, photocatalysis modeling, resonator-ring simulations, and ZnO nanoparticle sunscreen formulations. I bring international experience from Universidad de Murcia and work in Spanish, English, and German.
