Danielle Garnette
@daniellegarnette
Science teacher and tutor passionate for environmental science, STEM learning, and student success through engaging instruction.
What I'm looking for
I’m a lifelong educator focused on growing my expertise in environmental science and teaching through real classroom practice and experience. I bring a strong commitment to help every student learn, thrive, and succeed—while sharing both knowledge and lived experience to strengthen communities.
Since Aug 2020, I’ve worked as a Science Teacher and Tutor at Stride Education, teaching science using Engagli, Brightspace, and Canvas for 200+ students. I create content videos, quizzes, and instruction, and I connect with homeroom students directly while tutoring grades 6–12 in science and mathematics.
At Legacy Traditional Charter School, I served as the North Valley Science lead for junior high and organized the Science and Engineering Fair for K–6. I also supported hybrid learning through Schoology and Google Classroom (50% online, 50% classroom base), and I managed science team leadership and school-wide organization.
My experience also includes CCSD Substitute Teacher/Teacher work creating lessons and activities when needed, plus earlier teaching at Chaparral High School (Geoscience, Physics, and AP Environmental Science) for more than 180 students. Before and alongside education, I also worked as a PV Designer at SolarCity designing solar array layouts, and I volunteered as an Assistant Head Ranger with Boy Scouts of America by leading adolescents across terrain and teaching about the environment.
