@danielferreira1
Senior internal auditor and controls specialist delivering COSO, AML, and risk assurance.
What I'm looking for
I’m a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and bilingual internal audit, control & risk specialist with over 7 years of Big Four experience. I lead internal control, risk (COSO) and AML projects across Retail, Manufacturing, Energy, Banking, and Pharmaceuticals, with a focus on measurable impact.
At EY, I manage risk consulting and audit engagements for leading financial sector institutions, generating €300K in revenue impact for EY. I oversee cosourcing Internal Audit engagements across 6 geographies, deliver AML/CTF external expert reports aligned with SEPBLAC guidelines, and support capital and liquidity self-assessment audits under Banco de España guidance.
Previously at PwC, I led and executed consulting and audit engagements for 30+ clients across 12 industry sectors, coordinating multidisciplinary teams of up to 7 professionals. I strengthened internal control frameworks under COSO, ensured compliance with Quality Assurance and Improvement Programs (QAIP) in line with IIA Standards, and delivered training programs for 200+ professionals while performing global network audits.
I’m driven by internal audit process improvement and quality assurance aligned to IIA Standards, and I enjoy building methodologies and working papers that scale across teams. Early on, I implemented the COSO ERM framework for the Treasury Department at Grupo Duncan (awarded with Honors), and I’ve continued that emphasis through my CIA certification and my accounting background (Cum Laude, First in class).
