Cynthia Okul

I am a dedicated Counseling Psychologist with a strong commitment to mental wellness and social impact, particularly for vulnerable groups. My training through NYS EDUCATION and JOOTRH has equipped me with the skills necessary to provide effective psychosocial support and trauma care. I have a proven track record of working in various settings, including hospitals and community outreach programs, where I have made a significant difference in the lives of individuals facing mental health challenges.

In my role as a Student Counsellor at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital, I provided psychosocial support to patients in departments such as Oncology and the GBV Recovery Group. I participated in psychiatric assessments and case reviews, ensuring that each patient received the tailored care they needed. My experience includes facilitating focus group discussions, conducting patient education, and advocating for mental health awareness, all while maintaining a high level of cultural sensitivity and trauma-informed care.
