At University of Groningen, I researched algebraic foundations for matroids in my bachelor's thesis, “Finding interesting foundations using macaulay2.” I computed and classified a structured dataset across three matroid families, identifying novel foundation types across multiple hexagon classes.

I verified foundation presentations computationally and compared novel foundations with known pastures, including GF(7), GF(9), GF(13), GF(17), V, G, K, and D.

I designed and ran a parallelized data-processing pipeline for roughly 190,000 rank-4 matroids across 10 concurrent sessions, storing the results in Google Cloud Storage. I also made the foundation database publicly available through Zenodo to support future research in matroid theory.

To support this work, I maintained research computing infrastructure across a Google Cloud VM and the Hábrók HPC cluster, using SLURM and resolving thread-safety and memory-growth issues in Macaulay2. I'm completing my bachelor's program before starting the applied mathematics master's program at RUG in February.
