Clarence Banks
@clarencebanks
Senior AI engineer building production-ready GenAI and NLP systems focused on reliability and scale.
What I'm looking for
I’m a senior AI engineer with 10 years building machine learning systems that actually run in production. Today, my work is focused on GenAI and NLP—taking language models and turning them into reliable, useful systems rather than one-off demos.
I’ve worked across the GenAI stack, including LLM integration, retrieval-augmented workflows, prompt design, model evaluation, and scalable inference. I also build and support text understanding, classification, extraction, and search systems, often combining traditional NLP techniques with modern large language models.
Most of my experience sits at the intersection of models and infrastructure. I spend a lot of time thinking about how these systems behave at scale—latency, cost, reliability, and failure modes—and I work closely with researchers, engineers, and product teams to bridge experimentation and production.
