Beatriz Maio

I lead KPMG Advisory Portugal's ESG practice, overseeing strategy, business development, team management and project delivery. I advise organisations across sectors on ESG strategy, sustainable finance, regulatory requirements and integrating sustainability into business decision-making.

I've led double materiality assessments, ESRS/CSRD, GRI and CDP reporting, stakeholder engagement, and decarbonisation roadmaps toward net zero for companies and municipalities. Earlier at EY Portugal, I managed sustainability and climate consulting projects, developed GHG inventories under the GHG Protocol, supported Corporate Net Zero Roadmaps and SBTi targets, and contributed to ESG IPO readiness and environmental due diligence work.

My work also includes Portugal's first Municipal Carbon Neutrality Roadmap for Cascais, climate policy work in Angola, and internationally funded projects with organisations including UNDP, the World Bank and the African Development Bank. I enjoy translating complex sustainability requirements into practical approaches, building capacity across teams, and engaging stakeholders in Portugal and Angola.
