At Ostazi, I’m building and running a live, two-sided tutoring marketplace for Syria, where students and parents can book verified tutors. I develop it solo, end to end, across the backend, frontend, database schema, deployment, and financial logic.
I built a booking workflow that tracks requests through confirmation and completion, cancellation, or no-show, with actions tracked on both sides. Its versioned, append-only commission ledger preserves booking history when rates change.
I added phone and OTP authentication without passwords, along with an admin-gated teacher verification process. Teacher risk tiers can also block new bookings when debt passes a threshold.
I found and fixed a production security issue involving a debug flag that could expose OTP codes, then verified the fix in production. The product supports Arabic right-to-left and English interfaces, using Next.js, an Express/Node API, and PostgreSQL via Prisma on Supabase.
