Avimalya Dey

I recently completed my Master's in Economics (Finance) from the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) after earning a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Calcutta. My academic background has given me a strong foundation in econometrics, statistics, financial analysis, and quantitative research.

During my internship at G.K. Investment Ltd., I worked as an Internal Audit & Investment Analyst, where I analyzed financial and market data, built valuation models using DCF and ratio analysis, and performed exploratory data analysis to support investment decisions. I also prepared analytical reports and dashboards for management. Earlier, as a Data Analyst Intern at the IDEAS Technology Innovation Hub, Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), I worked with large-scale datasets, performed data cleaning and statistical analysis using Python, developed forecasting models, and built interactive dashboards using Apache Superset.

I have hands-on experience with Python, SQL, R, Advanced Excel, statistical modelling, machine learning, financial modelling, and data visualization. My research includes developing a credit risk decisioning framework using regression techniques and conducting panel data econometric analysis to study banking sector risk. These projects strengthened my analytical thinking, problem-solving, and ability to translate data into actionable insights.

I am particularly interested in Data Analytics, Risk Analytics, Model Risk Management, Financial Analysis, Consulting, Business Analytics, and Quantitative Research. I enjoy solving complex business problems using data and continuously learning new analytical techniques. I am looking for an entry-level opportunity where I can contribute to data-driven decision-making while growing my technical and business expertise in a collaborative environment.
