Andrew Lin
@andrewlin2
Senior full-stack engineer building cloud-native, event-driven platforms that improve customer outcomes.
What I'm looking for
I’m a senior Python full-stack engineer with 11 years of experience building large-scale customer engagement and communication platforms. I bring strong backend depth in Python and Java across distributed systems, event-driven pipelines, and cloud-native services on AWS, paired with frontend execution in React and Node.js.
At Twilio, I’ve delivered end-to-end capabilities across voice, messaging, and compliance—building features like conversation history for Flex, designing a real-time AI-assisted voice calling backend, and rebuilding TCPA/GDPR enforcement as an event-driven Kafka architecture. I also led backend work for contact center analytics and improved reliability by introducing OpenTelemetry-based distributed tracing across 12 microservices.
Previously at Salesforce, I migrated quoting from a monolith to Python-based microservices on AWS ECS, implemented a zero-downtime transition layer, and developed CPQ rules and UI workflows that reduced customer-reported errors and sped up approvals. Before that at Confluent, I built the foundational monitoring experience for Kafka clusters, including alerting, data pipelines, and CI/CD practices—helping teams detect issues faster and ship with confidence.
Experience
Work history, roles, and key accomplishments
Built end-to-end conversation history and architected backend services for Twilio’s real-time AI-assisted voice product and event-driven messaging compliance, including Kafka-based opt-out processing. Led microservices reliability improvements with OpenTelemetry tracing and delivered analytics capabilities through Python/Java services, GraphQL, and React.
Migrated Salesforce Sales Cloud quoting from a monolith to Python microservices on AWS and implemented a Node.js API gateway for zero-downtime transition. Built CPQ pricing rules and quote approval workflows using FastAPI, React/Redux, and Salesforce Apex/SOQL optimizations.
Built Confluent Control Center from the ground up, including a Python (Flask) backend and React monitoring UI for Apache Kafka clusters. Implemented consumer-lag pipelines, alerting, a topic browser, and CI/CD using Jenkins and Docker with pytest-based integration testing.
