Andrea Avecilla

At Universidad de Panamá, I completed clinical rotations across more than 15 specialties, including Neurology, Pulmonology, and Psychiatry. I’m interested in sleep medicine and in learning how to approach sleep disorders with rigor and close attention to patients.

During my rotations, I took vital signs and collected blood samples under supervision, and participated in clinical case discussions. In Obstetrics and Gynecology, I assisted with approximately 10 deliveries under supervision; in General Surgery, I assisted the surgical team in the operating room.

At the Feria Médica AVACA, I measured patients’ blood pressure and provided health-promotion guidance. I also worked with a physician to review laboratory results and prepare prescriptions under supervision, and assisted with medication distribution.

I prepared and presented an Emergency Medicine case on orbital compartment syndrome, covering its clinical presentation and key management steps. I have completed Good Clinical Practice training and hold current BLS certification.
