What I'm looking for

I’m looking for a remote or hybrid backend role in Node.js and TypeScript, ideally on NestJS and PostgreSQL, where I can own features from API design through CI/CD into production. I’m also open to production-support roles and to full-stack roles with Angular on the frontend. I’m based in Brașov, Romania (EET) and willing to relocate to Bucharest for a hybrid role.

I’m a backend engineer based in Brașov, Romania, with 5+ years of experience. I work mainly in TypeScript with NestJS and Node.js, on PostgreSQL, Redis and DynamoDB, and ship with Docker, Kubernetes and GitHub Actions.

Most recently, I was contracted to a global enterprise SaaS company for four months, working on a multi-service NestJS monorepo. I built REST endpoints against OpenAPI specs, implemented DynamoDB repository layers with transactional writes, and introduced E2E coverage reporting. I shipped my features through Jenkins and Spinnaker, then monitored and debugged them in production with Splunk.

Before that, I was the sole engineer for an early-stage travel-booking startup, owning an Angular and ASP.NET Core platform, its booking and payment integrations, and its production servers. When I detected a live server compromise, I traced unauthorized cron jobs connecting out to hundreds of external servers, removed the malicious processes and their persistence, and hardened SSH and firewall access.

At Ensemble Software, I led the design and development of a NestJS API from scratch for a collaborative requirements-management web app. I modelled the PostgreSQL schema for hierarchical, versioned data, implemented JWT authentication, and shipped an early mock API so the frontend team could build against the contract before the backend was ready. I also built a SharePoint integration on Microsoft Graph, reworked the Jira export, introduced a progress-tracking system that became the team standard, and led our client demos.

I keep building outside work. In TaskFlow, a Jira-style NestJS API with REST and GraphQL, I cut SQL queries per GraphQL request from 3,044 to 4 and p95 latency from 14.6 s to 0.57 s using a custom query counter and DataLoader, then made the heaviest query 5–10× faster with EXPLAIN ANALYZE. DevBoard is a 7-service event-driven platform on Kafka and RabbitMQ, traced with OpenTelemetry and deployed with Helm to a k3s cluster provisioned with Terraform and Ansible. QuizForge streams LLM-generated quizzes over Server-Sent Events, with schema validation and an LLM-as-judge eval harness. I build with Claude Code and Cursor.

I hold a BSc in Computer Science and an MSc in Modern Technologies in Software Systems Engineering from Transilvania University of Brașov, a Cambridge C1 English certificate, and I’m preparing for the AWS Solutions Architect – Associate exam. I’m also interested in CS education and indie game development.

I’m looking for remote or hybrid backend roles in Node.js and TypeScript, and I’m willing to relocate to Bucharest.
