Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Workers Compensation Claims Manager to lead our claims operations and ensure the effective handling of workers' compensation claims. In this role, you will drive strategic initiatives to enhance our claims management processes and foster a culture of accountability, compliance, and customer service excellence.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the claims management process, ensuring timely and accurate handling of workers' compensation claims from inception to resolution
- Develop and implement best practices for claims processing, including investigation, evaluation, and negotiation strategies
- Lead a team of claims adjusters, providing mentorship, training, and performance management to ensure high-quality service delivery
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to address complex claims issues and promote effective resolution
- Monitor claims metrics and trends, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with state regulations and company policies, conducting audits and reporting as necessary
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, insurance carriers, and legal representatives
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in workers' compensation claims management, with a proven track record of effective leadership
- In-depth knowledge of workers' compensation laws, regulations, and best practices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across various levels of the organization
Preferred:
- Professional certifications such as Associate in Claims (AIC) or Workers Compensation Claims Professional (WCCP)
- Experience in developing and implementing claims management technology solutions
- Proficient in claims management software and data analytics tools
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Extensive experience with claims management systems and software applications
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel for data analysis
- Familiarity with risk management frameworks and methodologies
