Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Network Engineering Manager to lead our Wireless Engineering team. In this pivotal role, you will drive the design, implementation, and optimization of wireless network solutions, ensuring high availability and performance across our global infrastructure. You will provide strategic direction to your team while collaborating with cross-functional partners to deliver innovative and reliable network services that empower our customers.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of network engineers focused on wireless technologies, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and management of wireless network architecture, including WLAN, LTE, and 5G technologies.
- Establish robust network strategies and operational best practices to optimize network performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to integrate wireless solutions that meet customer requirements and business objectives.
- Manage vendor relationships and evaluate new technologies to enhance our wireless capabilities.
- Drive incident response and troubleshooting for complex network issues, ensuring minimal downtime and service disruption.
- Develop and maintain documentation for network configurations, standards, and procedures.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on wireless technologies and management experience.
- Strong understanding of wireless communication protocols, including Wi-Fi, LTE, and 5G.
- Proven track record in designing and managing large-scale wireless networks in complex environments.
- Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools, such as Wireshark, SolarWinds, or equivalent.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
Preferred:
- Relevant certifications such as CCNP Wireless, CWNP, or equivalent.
- Experience with cloud-based networking solutions and SD-WAN technologies.
- Familiarity with security protocols and practices relevant to wireless networking.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in wireless network design and optimization techniques, including site surveys and RF analysis.
- Proficiency in network management and monitoring tools, as well as network configuration management.
- Knowledge of network security best practices and solutions.
