Role Overview
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Video Archiving Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and preserving digital video assets, ensuring their accessibility and integrity over time. You will play a critical role in implementing archiving standards and best practices within our organization, contributing to the overall efficiency of our media management processes.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive archiving strategy for digital video content, adhering to industry standards and organizational guidelines.
- Implement and oversee the ingestion of video files into the archiving system, ensuring accurate metadata capture and organization.
- Conduct regular audits of archived materials to verify data integrity and accessibility, addressing any discrepancies promptly.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize video assets for archiving based on project needs and organizational goals.
- Provide training and support to team members on archiving procedures and best practices.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in digital archiving and media management to continuously enhance our processes.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- BA/BS in Information Management, Media Studies, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in digital asset management or video archiving.
- Strong understanding of video file formats, codecs, and metadata standards.
- Experience with digital asset management systems and archival software.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred:
- Familiarity with video encoding and transcoding processes.
- Knowledge of cataloging standards and practices.
- Experience with cloud storage solutions and data migration techniques.
- Certifications related to digital archiving or information management.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro).
- Familiarity with database management and archival technologies (e.g., Avid MediaCentral, CatDV).
- Understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud) for video storage and archiving.
