Role Overview
We are seeking a visionary Director of Photography (DoP) to lead our visual storytelling efforts and elevate the creative quality of our projects. In this fully remote role, you will collaborate closely with directors, producers, and other key stakeholders to craft visually compelling narratives that resonate with audiences. Your expertise in cinematography will shape the aesthetic and emotional tone of our productions, ensuring that every frame captures the essence of the story.
Responsibilities
- Lead the cinematography team in the conception and execution of the visual style for various projects
- Collaborate with directors and producers to develop shot lists, lighting plans, and camera setups
- Oversee the selection and management of cameras, lenses, and other equipment to achieve desired visual outcomes
- Conduct detailed pre-production planning to ensure all visual elements align with the project vision
- Guide and mentor junior cinematographers and crew members, fostering a culture of creativity and technical excellence
- Adapt quickly to changing project requirements and troubleshoot technical issues on set
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in cinematography or related fields, with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse projects
- Expertise in operating a range of camera systems and understanding of cinematography techniques
- Proven ability to lead and inspire a team while effectively managing multiple projects
- Strong understanding of lighting techniques, color theory, and composition
Preferred:
- Experience with digital cinematography and familiarity with industry-standard software for post-production
- Background in narrative storytelling, documentary filmmaking, or commercial work
- Knowledge of current trends in visual media and a passion for innovation in cinematography
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in camera operation, lighting setups, and advanced editing software
- Familiarity with drone cinematography and other emerging technologies
- Experience with color grading and post-production workflows
