Role Overview
We are seeking a visionary Director of Photography (Cinematographer) to join our creative team. In this fully remote role, you will lead the visual storytelling process, bringing a unique artistic perspective that enhances our narrative content. Your expertise in cinematography will be crucial in shaping the visual identity of our projects and delivering high-quality imagery that resonates with our audience.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with directors, producers, and other creative team members to conceptualize and develop the visual style and tone for various projects.
- Oversee all aspects of cinematography including camera operation, lighting design, and shot composition to create compelling visual narratives.
- Manage and mentor a team of camera operators and lighting technicians, fostering an environment of creativity and technical excellence.
- Utilize advanced cinematography techniques and tools to capture stunning visuals, ensuring alignment with the project's artistic vision.
- Conduct location scouting and assess technical requirements for shoots, ensuring all logistical considerations are accounted for.
- Review and edit footage to ensure the final product meets the highest standards of quality and artistic integrity.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 10+ years of experience as a cinematographer with a robust portfolio showcasing a variety of styles and genres.
- Proficiency in operating professional camera systems, including digital cinema cameras and lenses.
- Strong understanding of lighting techniques and the ability to craft mood and atmosphere through lighting design.
- Experience in post-production processes, including color grading and editing software.
Preferred:
- Experience working on feature films, documentaries, or high-end commercial projects.
- Familiarity with drone cinematography and emerging filming technologies.
- Strong networking skills and established relationships within the film and production industry.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in camera operation and cinematography techniques, including framing, composition, and movement.
- Proficient in industry-standard software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, and Avid Media Composer.
- Experience with various camera systems, including RED, ARRI, and Canon.
Soft Skills and Cultural Fit
