Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Veterinary Cardiologist to join our esteemed veterinary practice. In this critical role, you will be responsible for diagnosing and treating cardiac conditions in small animals, utilizing advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to deliver exceptional care and improve patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough cardiac examinations and interpret diagnostic tests, including echocardiograms, electrocardiograms, and radiographs.
- Develop and implement tailored treatment plans for patients with various cardiac conditions.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of veterinarians and specialists to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Provide consultations and support for referring veterinarians regarding complex cardiac cases.
- Stay abreast of advancements in veterinary cardiology and contribute to the continual improvement of clinical practices within the team.
- Participate in client education efforts, explaining cardiac conditions and treatment options to pet owners with empathy and clarity.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a clinical internship and residency in veterinary cardiology.
- Board certification or eligibility for certification by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) in Cardiology.
- Strong clinical skills and a deep understanding of veterinary cardiology.
Preferred:
- 3+ years of experience in a clinical setting focusing on veterinary cardiology.
- Proficiency in advanced imaging techniques, including echocardiography and CT.
- Experience with interventional cardiology procedures.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in diagnostic imaging technologies and cardiac monitoring systems.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and practice management software.
- Proficient in the utilization of laboratory diagnostics relevant to cardiology.
