Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic and visionary Vice President of Institutional Research to lead our efforts in driving data-informed decision-making across the organization. This role is essential in shaping our research agenda, enhancing institutional effectiveness, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement through innovative research methodologies and analytics.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive institutional research strategy that aligns with the organization's mission and goals.
- Lead the design and implementation of research studies that assess institutional performance, student outcomes, and program effectiveness.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to identify key strategic questions and facilitate data-driven discussions that inform institutional policy and practice.
- Oversee the collection, analysis, and dissemination of data across various platforms to support institutional planning and accountability.
- Foster partnerships with academic departments, administrative units, and external stakeholders to enhance research initiatives.
- Mentor and develop a high-performing team of research professionals, promoting a culture of collaboration and innovation.
- Represent the institution at conferences, workshops, and other professional events, sharing insights and best practices in institutional research.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., education, social sciences, statistics) with a minimum of 10 years of experience in institutional research or related fields.
- Demonstrated expertise in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, data analysis, and statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R, or equivalent).
- Proven track record of effectively communicating research findings to diverse audiences, including senior leadership and academic stakeholders.
Preferred:
- Doctorate degree in a relevant field.
- Experience in higher education or non-profit sectors.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams and driving organizational change.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and database management systems.
- Familiarity with institutional research databases and reporting systems.
- Understanding of federal and state regulations related to data reporting and institutional accountability.
