Responsibilities

- Oversee the timing of segments, ensuring that broadcasts adhere to scheduled timelines while remaining flexible to breaking news.
- Participate in editorial meetings to contribute ideas for upcoming stories, segments, and features.
- Provide feedback and guidance to production staff, helping to cultivate a collaborative and high-energy work environment.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of news coverage and viewer engagement metrics, making adjustments as necessary.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in a newsroom environment, with a solid understanding of broadcast production processes.
- Proven ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with an eye for detail and a passion for storytelling.
Preferred:
- Experience directing or producing live newscasts.
- Familiarity with news gathering and editing software, including Avid, Adobe Premiere, or similar tools.
- Knowledge of social media platforms and their role in contemporary news dissemination.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in broadcast production software and equipment.
- Strong understanding of video editing tools and techniques.
- Experience with graphics and animation software is a plus.
